So this is sadly my last post. I hope you found my information helpful and intriguing. I had fun teaching you guys on Sparta's military. My first post was about Spartan training and a mans life in Sparta. For my second post I talked about what Spartan weapons were, called, and how they were used. Lastly for my third post I talked about why Sparta threw people in a hole. I think it was important to research these topics because Sparta impacted the world today in many ways. The importance of my research is important because I have learned many things for example Spartans captured their enemies, they used very harmful weapons, and boys were taken from their family at the age of seven. My research I have found is related to our world today for example Sparta had many good military tactics that have been inspired by Alexander the Great. Well I really enjoyed teaching y'all. Again I hope you found my information helpful and inspiring. Thank you!!
Spartan's captured their enemies during battle. When they returned to Sparta they would throw their enemies in a big hole. Spartan's also threw criminals that were found guilty. This hole had no name what so ever. In 406BC the hole was not being used anymore. When this hole was found by an archeologist it was found with a large amount of skeletons. Most of these skeletons belonged to adults with fractures that extended over the body or have marks with spears or arrow heads. |
